I'm can't say you that you'll get really good performance right now, but I can say you met minimal requirements, so it's should work fine after release if you don't need to generate to much planets. This game seriously need more than RAM, e.g 6GB is enough in most cases, but with 4GB you can sometimes met problems.

    I have:
    Laptop
    Quadcore i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.2 GHz Turbo 3.1 GHz
    8 GB DDR3 RAM 1333MHz
    Ge Force GT550M

    Desktop
    Hexacore Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition @ 3.2GHz Overclocked 3.8 GHz
8 GB DDR3 RAM 1866MHz Corsair Dominator DHX
    EVGA GTX580 FTW HydroCopper 2

I think I am good to go then, if OP can run game with his specs.

I have 4g ram, 1g gpu, and dual core cpu.

I just created a custom system with 2 2000 planets and 8 1000 planets, and played it for two and a half hours against an AI to see things.

Had bugs, and got slow at times on my computers end because the server would keep units moving and builds building while I froze and it would all jump ahead at once when I unfroze. But, I would daresay even if it was a competitive game it was more than likely playable in a fashion where you had a chance to win using it.

So, this game isn't THAT aweful. you would be surprised what you could do. As long as you don't have integrated graphics and have some sort of dedicated one. Something similar to mine approaches the minimum, maybe could be lower.

Anyway RAM is pretty cheap now, or better say extremely cheap. Most of game freezes are related to RAM.

from my experience, it's integrated graphics, or a seriously lacking CPU.
(and also people wanting to play w/ high settings on said machine)

Edit: like you said, ram nowadays is incredibly cheap. there really is no reason to not run ~8GB,

Low FPS - yes. Frezees (e.g when you can't control anything) are happen cuz of RAM/VRAM.

But in latest build Uber improve RAM usage dramatically, so probably it's should be much more playable on 4GB.
