    Who wins?

In my experience its Tank Charge. I charged at a Tank where both of us had level 3 charge, he started his charge AFTER mine, his knocked me back and dazed me, mine did no damage and didn't trigger grapple.

Has anyone had similar or different experiences?

Just curious what decides which one wins, is it who does it second? Is it based on class? Current Hp? Elevation diffences(i.e. do it up/down a ramp)?

The higher level Charge wins. If both people have the same level Charge, they bounce off each other, unless one was "heavier" than the other. However, it rarely seems to go like that, possibly due to the Assault's small hitbox relative to the Tank and lag-related issues.

Yeah, you should have sent him arse over tit. Elevation only effects the Assault's LVL3 Charge, in that you can't grapple people in mid-air.

Also, the Tank's Charge is quite short, and a clever Assault will back up and Charge when you are about to stop Charging.

Well I didn't expect him to charge at the time. But I had to take advantage of the moment since he was primed to be knocked out of the ring. More than anything I was surprised that my charge did no damage to him, and his charge stopped mine. (FYI we were both on the ground at the time)

The Assault's charge is longer and faster* than the Tank's, so you could have been just coming to a halt when he hit you, hence the odd result.

Possible, but I doubt it since we were both fairly close to each other and the timing didn't feel right.

But it still is very possible that happened.

Tank charge always wins AFAIK. Heavier class always wins in these things.

Lunge < Assault Charge < Tank Charge

    Independently of level.

    This is true.

However, due to internet lag, sometimes it may not seem this way. If an Assault starts his charge and a Tank starts his charge but the server sees the Assault charging into the Tank and the Tank hasn't started yet, it may appear as though the Assault won when in actuality the server just saw the Tank not charging.

The one problem I have with this scenario is that the tank's charge skill will often still end up on cooldown, even though it never actually happened.

As far as I understand: Desynch issue. As Scathis explained, during the whole shenanigan the server will see the assault using the skill on a Tank that didn't use anything, however, once that's over, the server will receive the instruction that the Tank did perform a charge, and consequently go into cooldown. Since it can't retroactively change the situation of the Assault hitting the charge, it'll carry on performing the one action it can - putting your skill into cooldown.

Sucks but, that's lag for you. It's also the reason you'll die after you ran behind a wall. Or get grappled out of range, or during a jump. Everyone hates lag.
