So, I just realized that we have the papa files for a tank based commander in our PA folder and took a peak. He kinda looks like Number 5 from "Short Circuit" with a strange head. What do you guys think? /edit I totally forgot to add a picture so I stole this one from LavaSnake. Thx and sry.
They said there would be a treaded commander, and I like short circuit two. That pretty much sums up how I feel...
Well reading your post I was excited, so I went and took a peak too. did someone replace his head with a giant dustbin?! It's like his head has had some kind of machine growth hormone injected into it but his body was unaffected. My initial reaction was to laugh, so I don't think I'll be playing as this guy much.
Here are a couple of quick images of it's model in case you haven't seen it yet. I still think the quad commander is the best.
I think if the head was pointed in a direction rather then straight vertical also perhaps if it had more geometry on it it would fit the rest of the commanders busy look. *sigh* take a breath sry for the run on sentence >_<
I think he looks like a toy my two year old nephew would play with, rather than an intimidating commander of thousands of machines. Oh well, you cant win them all. Looks like I'll be sticking to my beautiful raptor commander!
Am I the only one that thinks the newer Commanders are ludicrously cartoonish compared to the previous ones? I mean, I have no personal issue with a playful art style, but it conveys the sense of "toy with exaggerated proportions," more so than "genocidal pan-galactic kill-everything-weapon designed by the world's deadliest minds and subjected to millions of years of natural selection?" In between the Raptor's literally block-shaped head, the Quadruped's teetering walk cycle and now the Tread Commander's head that looks like someone lifted a tower out of a futuristic server farm? It's just a bit of an incongruity.
That's very similar to the Gundam Guntank, except, smaller barrels. Personally, I'm waiting for a quad-tank hybrid
Speed for flat land. Legs for terrain and getting an elevated firing position. Have you not played a mecha sim?
