Best AGP card you can get is the Radeon HD 4670 or the 4650.
If your graphics card requires additional power (a molex connector on the side http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... nector.jpg ) make sure you have a free one to plug into it, otherwise, you are restricted to cards without additional power needs.

Since AGP was phased out in favor of PCI-Express, the AGP cards that are left have gone up in price. Law of supply and demand, low supply, creates a high demand, raises prices.

I would recommend buying a used on on eBay or amazon, new ones will probably be needlessly expensive.

TA or TA:K - doesn't matter, I acquired both of them.

In short - TA. TA:K's singleplayer felt bland, but tried as much as it could. It didn't have a following and I lost attention to it quickly.

Be careful, as you can see from the 4670 and the 4650, the little black connector on the upper part of the card, they require a PCI-Express power connector, or a Molex to PCI-Express adapter which the chap from eBay provides. Make sure your PC has the available connectors before committing to a certain card. Or if not, the proper adapters will need to be purchased if they are not included with the card.

Some cards require additional power, but some later runs of the same card might not if they were made more power efficient, check each card before committing to it.

You are better off getting a card that at least has DX10 (Direct X 10 or 10.1)
Cards with only DX9 (Direct X 9.0c) are too old, most games still Support DX9, but when they stop, the card will not be any good.

Also Google the card to see if it has Model Shader 3.0. (4.0 or up would actually be) better.

Check out your local retailers bro, my buddy just scooped up a quad core, 8gig ram right for ~300. Granted it was a display model, and he haggled the price on the open box, but it was a great deal. The best part it has a PCI e slot so he can get a fancy video card when money permits.

The worse thing is though...some websites and forums reckoned his graphics card should be able to do shader 3 bollocks so we were chuffed, but when it comes to running SMNC - it ain't having it... who would have thought... the interwebs contains lies. :evil:
