hello all, i don't get on here much but, i thought id talk about the new change to the T2 bomber. in short hand, i hate the change. it feels like its just a flying catapult or a another gunship. the hovering mechanic of the bomber feels wrong and i feel IMO is a step backwards in the units balance. i don't really know what to say besides it just feels like its out of place. i agree with the concept of the T2 bomber being a tactical bomber and more specialized, but i just don't like the stop-hover-fire aspect of it. the only suggestion i have is make the bomber faster and keep the tactical missle (thats cool) but make the bomber fly as it did before (having to make runs). my other thought would be its stealth on its way to the target but once it fires its ordinance it will be revealed as it turns to line up for its next run. ok, im done ranting lol,
I don't like the change. Flying catapults isn't a good idea. The Realm Balance Mod has done a good job by making it a strategic bomber. Droping a single, high yeild, bomb. It's also pretty confusing having the bomber model hover. A slightly amusing/annoying side effect of the change. But if uber sticks with the change, I'm sure they'll change the model.
perhaps if it carpet bombed tactical missles, like they were dropped out of the bomber like the t1 bombing run then all found diffrent targets or hit the ground with small AoE?
I like the new bomber. Doesn't have long range, it's missiles move slow, and the unit it's self can't deal with ground blobs. I love it the way it is.
Its gone the same route as the inferno and vangaurd. Its just a upgraded gunship. T2 bomber should be used to break a hole into a fortified base, but with sniper bots shooting down there one missle, its better just to build bumblebees and carpet bomb everything. I agree that the gunship and bumblebee are geared toward blobs, but the t2 bomber should be used for high value stratigic targets. Right now, bumblebees rule the ground.
Yeah, no. Both the t2 bomber and gunship are T2 and the bomber has a missile for killing single targets, where as the gunship has rapid fire guns to shred enemy units very quickly one after the other. They do not have the same role, one is for siege, the other is for ground support and raiding.
Sorry, but yeah it is. It uses the stop-hover-fire mechanic "gunship" what it fires is not important. Different jobs, same platform which is the gunship.
It's not a tall order either, since T2 bombers literally out range and outrun any and all AA weapons that could ever be fielded on the ground and can only be reasonably engaged by a single terrestrial option out of the entire unit roster. Balance!
Do you mean fighters, spinners, standard aa tower, flak turret, and the sniper bot. Seeing the problem here? There are too many counters to the new design for it to be really good at anything. It just sits there while you shoot down every missle it fires until you calmly stroll up with aa and kill it. Im sorry, the design sucks and the balence of is just as bad. Keep in mind im unlikely to change my mind about it.
