Will Uber use some kind of automatic system specifications detection tool.
So we dont have to post this in every bug report. Just can link it ?

Or just run DxDiag.exe once, then put all the pertinent info into a notepad file and copy+paste?

Hm, why not? ok, i'll type up the stuff you have to press and write so you don't even have to think about it:

    Windows key

    type 'cmd'

    Enter

    type 'dxdiag'

    Enter

    click save all information

    click Save

    And you're set. :p

I would definately like to see some form of crash report including system specs in a .txt file being generated so we can copy-paste that in a topic including a description of what you were doing when it crashed. I think that could really help Uber getting their hands on the source of bugs and crashes happening in the Alpha.

Unfortunately, I think you are. :p Dxdiag is what you are describing.

How do I run DxDiag on Linux Mint 14 or OSX Snow Lepoard?

Kidding aside, DxDiag is the obvious option for Windows, but it would be handy for confirmation of any equivalent tools on the other operating systems PA is being built for. Are there any easy equivalents?

Why wouldn't your primary gaming account have admin rights already?

I effed up something in my settings, the Start menu bar doesn't start anything with admin rights except cmd.

"Why have a machine do it when you can do it yourself?!"

People sure are resistant to convenience.

More like "Why pay someone at Uber to create a tool for something we can already easily do ourselves?"

Yea, I guess a standard error log, containing all the information needed to debug a crash, wouldn't be useful at all.

Accessing info from within the game and accessing System Info are not quite the same thing.
