    Hello,

I'm wondering if this has ever been discussed at all. I think it would be a great addition to be able to individual choose the metal locations. (Also spawn points). I like and understand why we have the completely random system generation but when metal and spawn points are random it is extremely hard to balance the systems. I'll have some spawns with 10 metal around and some with zero. I want to intelligently place metal locations to create interesting systems.

Is this a feature that has ever been discussed?

Symmetrical metal maps are going to be added very soon. This means your opponent will not have any sort of metal advantage.

Custom metal has not been confirmed by Uber, and I highly doubt it will be included any time soon, since symmetrical metal is basically reaching it's goal in a different way.

This thread will show the progress and announcement of symmetrical planets.
This picture is a sneak peak of what's coming for metal specifically.

I'm aware of the symmetrical maps but honestly I'd like much more control than that. If completely custom metal is not an option. At least have a separate option for metal spawn and total metal.

I want to be able to have a larger influence on map control.

I'm able to create choke points by increasing water level height on those worlds and others as well but I can't reward/incentivize territorial control without unbalancing spawns.

Also as a side when changing metal you can't really customize much. going from 10 to 50 metal density is just a random number generator in that spectrum.
