So I tried out my first game against an AI. I won, but I did have some recommendations. I'll list them here. I'm not sure if anyone else will have mentioned these yet, but nonetheless I don't think vocalizing my thoughts can hurt. 1) a no-brainer, and probably something you already have planned to do, but varying difficulty settings for AI. 2) possibly personality variations in the AI that the player can customize. Make some focus on resource expansion, others on turtling, others on aggressiveness, etc. 3) a more balanced AI as far as unit usage goes. The AI in my game spammed aircraft. Nothing else. Some more variety would be great. 4) inter-stellar tech. I would LOVE to see a space-faring warship option. Bigger ships could even bombard the surface of planets like the satellite lasers do. I think it would just add another awesome dimension to this game. I'm not a programmer, so I don't know the ins and outs of the art. But I suspect this is do-able considering you already have orbital combat. 5) different starting locations. I don't like sharing planets with others. I'd love to have the option where other players/AIs start on different planets. This option could allow us to choose how and when we'd like to finally fight our enemies. 6) possibly a diplomacy option? This is really a matter of flavour, and it could fit or not fit in with the lore you've constructed so far. Personally, I really like diplomacy features, but I can understand if more traditional RTS players don't agree. I suspect the AI is probably quite low on the priority list right now, and I have no complaints about that. This is simply a list of features I'd really like to see in the final release. Excellent work. So far this game is well worth what I paid for the beta access keep it up!
crap. Just noticed the description of the beta threads. I am so sorry. I'd delete this/move it if I could.
