I have looked around for a thread on endorsement ideas and could not find one in the recent past, so i thought i would throw up a few ideas i have for new endorsements and see if any of you good folks have any comments or ideas to share?. Defensive Engineering Bronze : Turrets Build faster, new turrets receive +10% over heal when first created and Level three turrets are considerably cheaper to upgrade. Silver : Turrets Build faster, new turrets receive +30% over heal when first created and Level two and three turrets are considerably cheaper to upgrade. Gold : Turrets Build much faster, new turrets receive +50% over heal when first created and Level two and three turrets are considerably cheaper to upgrade. I do not think level one turrets should ever be any cheaper. Acrobatics Bronze : The Pro leaps faster, allowing for greater use of bouncing as an evading tactic. Silver : The Pro leaps faster and longer, covering greater vertical distance's. Gold : The Pro leaps faster , longer and higher , high enough for the non-heavy classes to jump from ground level to raised platforms if timed correctly. Financial Backing (aka - waah waah waaaah, i cant earn enough money.) Bronze : Start the game with 450 credits and gather small randomly timed cash sponsorship bonus to top up your earnings. Silver : Start the game with 500 credits and gather some randomly timed cash sponsorship bonus to top up your earnings. Gold : Start the game with 550 credits and gather large randomly timed cash sponsorship bonus to top up your earnings. This last skill was intended to help newcomers, but would also be usefull for a "bail-out" class build that is designed for joining in games at later stages.
Other than the fact the first suggestion would make me crap my pants as a tank going up against a level 3 hacked rocket turret WITHOUT those. the second you would just start off with the class, die and switch classes and gain an easy 500 bucks. if your going to suggest something like that. make it more like...while playing as this class your upgrades cost less. or something. but even then it would make the game necessary to switch classes, abuse the power, then switch back to your regular custom class to get the best benefit.
Inspirational. I'll throw in some of my own(probably godawful and broken) ideas as well. Trapper: Bronze cuts the cost of Ejectors to $25, silver cuts them to $15, and gold to $5. No effect on the Annihilator. In theory the cheapness would make using the endorsement worth it but still between the cooldown and the fact that you need to actually go to the button to use them there are still some downsides. Heavyweight: Decreases speed, but makes your pro resistant to being knocked around by things. How about a gold that made Jackbots and Ejectors less likely to send you far? Lucky: Gold only. Increases the odds of juice, churro, and bacon drops. Leech: Gold only. Decreases all damage dealt and juice gain, but heals the user slowly as they attack(ignores their regular health recovery). Duelist: Gold only. All stats are slightly improved when fewer enemy pros are near. Indomitable: Gold only. All stats improve slightly when more enemy pros are near. Magnet: Bots, turrents, and Bullseye are increasingly likely to focus on players with this endorsement. Power of Money: Crossfire and gold only. Every time you gain $1000, the money is instantly spent(not added to your earnings) and boosts your stats slightly for a limited time. Razer: You deal and take more damage from enemy turrents, but any turrent you destroy can instantly be rebuilt and if you destroy a firebase the owner's firebase skill is instantly recharged. Intangible: Can't use hazards, juice machine, or build turrents, but you can't be tagged with an Assault's bomb or Support's airstrike beacon. Straight Edge: Juiced players deal regular damage to you, but you can't use juice yourself. Fisticuffs: Increases reach, power, and attack rate for melee but doesn't count towards the Humiliation protag and decreases juice gain from melee. Investor: Spawning bots costs less. I don't know, maybe we should have a fourth endorsement slot that includes special endorsements that have downsides attached to them? Sounds right anyways.
some of wyvrians were okay ideas for some kind of a passive endorsement. they dont directly really effect gameplay (and really, the current juice one doesnt either, and the speed is borderline, but im just saying...) trapper would easily be every good assassin's bronze endorsement. but the second one of the main post wouldnt work, as it breaks map design, as well as some class balance. trust me, deadeye is only as good as he is cuz the climbs on walls which his team has control of the safe side of, and shoots from it until he needs to duck down and hide. at least he does that the majority of the time.
