When we select units, we can see the fabricators are different to the tanks.
Tanks are combat units, while the fabricators are not.
    This is good.

Some units are partially combat or non-combat units.
The players sometimes want them to be selected with combat units, sometimes not.
For example, combat-fabricators and scout units.
Sometimes I want them to be selected and go with the troops.
But I may want some of them to stay in place without being selected.
Thus, I can keep some combat fabricators to reclaim.

I think we really need a switch button for assigning the units to be combat or non-combat unit.
It should looks like the fire mode.
The fire mode contains three modes, include auto-fire, return-fire, and no-fire.
About the combat or non-combat unit, I think most of the units should get the default setting as combat unit.
But the commander and the fabricators should be non-combat units as their default.

If the players want the scout to stay in place or the combat fabricators to reclaim an area.
They can switch the scout or combat fabricators to non-combat units.
So they won't get selected in later manipulation.

There are mods for combat fabbers and the commander that'll stop them being selected with combat units. You can then use shift+box-select to everything. I've never heard of anyone wanting this for scouts but it'd be trivial to make said mod.
    tracert and huangth like this.
