I was thinking about this the other day, a new feature I'd love to see - being able to store several of your favourite games, then just jumping straight in with the click of a button. One of my favourite games at the moment is on a custom system I've designed myself; it's a 3vs3 match with the free slots filed with hard AI. Another one is a 2v2v2 game on a different system, where I play with a mate vs two teams of normal AI. Imagine being able to set one of these games up and then storing it as a favourite, with a name and maybe short description. Then the next time you want to play it, just select it from a list of your favourites and hit play would be fantastic - no more adding slots, inviting friends, adding AI, setting up teams, loading the system, choosing colours .. it's all just loaded automatically. Even better, being able to load that configuration, modify it and either save it as a new favourite, or replace the old version. What do you think?
I think this is somewhat what the chronocam is going to do, eventually it will let you load a game from any point of a replay and continue to play from it.
That was a hope of a feature that might come. Looking at the game right now it's a year or more away or not coming at all unless serious modding 8 done and much more of the engine is opened up to said modders
Hence being a pipe dream, "A fantastic notion or vain hope". I.e. I don't think it will happen, be lucky if we even get a save feature.
Chronocam's something different, I feel. That would be good for rewinding games, or picking up a replay and taking over at a certain point. What I'm after is just a simple way of forming new games according to the templates I create.
