if you have played company of heroes, you will find that the game is very fast paced because you have to fight over resources and victory points from the first min in game. While in TA/SC/PA it is OK to turtle and lock yourself in a fortress. I was wondering if we can have more modes other than annihilation. something like king of the hill (VP) mode on the north pole. or Neutral Adv Metal/Energy buildings for players to fight over it at early stages. what do you think?
... you didnt realy play supcom against good humans players did ya? You cant turtle unless you wish to lose, since your forced to fight over mass points constantly (or the enemy gets the economical advantage and you lose). The same will be true in PA once they activate mass points (You wont be able to build mass extractors anywhere). But regardless, more game modes is never a bad idea (or allmost never).
Moved the suggesion to the backers lounge, as the alpha forums is not meant for suggestions. On topic: At least in FA turteling isnt a working strategy. In PA it is currently working, but only if you completely ignore that metal extractors should be placed on metal spots. Once that has been implemented any form of turtle will starve to death.
yeah things aren't too exciting right now, i'm sure that'll change when development shifts to balance supreme commander definitely was exciting when you knew how to play but there was a large learning curve and the impetus for interaction wasn't as conspicuous as it is in company of heroes or starcraft.
There is a thread in general about game modes that I think has a summary of most of the good stuff. The intent is also to allow some of them to work together which will be interesting. Not implemented yet obviously or you would have in your hands.
