Personally, I'm tired of playing matches where one team just walks all over another. Sometimes when I'm playing with friends, I'll quit out and rejoin just in hopes of getting split. It's not that I don't like competent teammates, it's just that it's not particularly fun easily winning over and over. I'd much rather be on the losing side of a close match than the winning side of an easy match. Does anyone feel the same way? Here's my suggestion: a second crossfire game type that is restricted to level 99 players. Benefits: A place for people to go for more competitive gameplay. Less pub stomping, resulting in a more enjoyable experience for newer players Having something unlocked at 99 might actually get people to stick with the game longer Also, something that I would like to see applied to both playlists is the shuffling of non-partied players, so everyone isn't always on the same team every time. Thoughts? (Flames?)
There might not be enough 99s to do this yet. Other than that, it seems like a good idea. Maybe a bigger range. People usually know how to play properly by level 60 - 80.
That's definitely a concern, but I'm not sure it's a valid one. It seems like I consistently have 3-10 level 99's on my friends list playing MNC, so I'm sure there are plenty out there. I could see not being able to get a full lobby playing during the slower hours, but I would think that it wouldn't be difficult during peak hours. Also, who needs a full lobby? I would rather play a 3v3 of experience players than a 6v6 of unexperienced. Also, the developers have expressed their aversion to creating another gametype due to the likelihood that it will fragment an already smallish community. I do not feel that this would be the case, since this would draw from a much smaller pool of active players than a gametype open to all players.
Not a bad idea, but one problem. A 99 playlist would benefit me, while a newby playlist would benefit not-me. The choice is clear. In all seriousness, that might be a better option, although my concern would be the huge learning curve should someone choose to use this playlist for the majority of their way up to 30/40, and then suddenly get forced to play with the big dogs.
Sign me up. Also, there may be a relatively small amount of 99's right now (compared to the overall population), but seeing as they're level 99 they obviously play the game a lot. I also think that if you were playing this game mode, you wouldn't have to wait so long to fill a lobby for 6v6.
Just beware of the longterm effect. As the length of time that the game has been out goes, barring MNC breaks all typical gaming trends, the smaller the number of "new players" we'll be seeing as popularity has to eventually fall. Note this is just a warning, not a condemnation. The result could become the loyal fanbase of 99's in their own play list while someone who just heard about the game from a friend tries it out only to have a relatively low number of other lowbies making games harder to find. Which in turn slows their leveling making it seem more of a chore to get up to 99 to play with others and may discourage them from playing. Not to mention the average player would see low numbers as a sign of the game dying and no one wants to play a dead game. And I don't think anyone here wants to see this game stop earning new loyal players. There are examples of this in other class based games that developed some kind of level based match making and it killed off the lower level brackets. Everyone just used alternative ways to level up to get "where the action really is" and thus you ended up with max leveled "newbs" when they finally started playing against other players again. Or they stopped playing the game altogether. The irony here is even I agree the spirit of this thread to make games more competitive and to keep 99's from beating up on the little guys all the time is great. I just lack a good solution.
no offence, but its a temporary fix. eventually you have lvl 99s who got their rank through match bonus and time, and still are a drag. that leaves you with the idea of shuffling unpartied players between the teams after a game's results. this has been said many a time on at least 3 seperate posts ex.:for the love of god, balance, please...
I assume that not kicking inactive hosts is something that will be fixed in the next update. Regardless, I'm sure inexperienced players would find their way in, but I don't see that as much of a problem. No one is going to want to be repeatedly steamrolled by much more experienced players.
i like the idea , and if there are not enough players maybe we can implement a spectator option so we can have less servers and more pros for each server
yes spectator idea. no 99 idea. if your going to give 99s anything neat, dont give them a personal server lol. the only way i would give my vote for such a system, is if they changed rank system to actually capture skill. currently its how long you played, by money earned. lvl99s wouldnt impress me (as they havent in mw2 or halo) unless they had to earn rank from playing good and decrease for playing bad.
I'm not sure you're familiar with Halo's matchmaking, but I believe it's generally considered one of the best, as it does match people up based on skill rather than experience. Obviously this sort of system would be optimal, but it's a bit too far out of reach of what could be expected in an update. The point of a 99 (or whatever you want the cutoff to be) playlist is that at least you'll be weeding out the newbies. Sure, there will still be people who have the experience but not the skill, but it won't be nearly as unbalanced as most of the public matches. The way I see it is that something like this would make the game more enjoyable to both newbies and veteran players.
I think they should just have a teams only playlist, where you have to have a party of 6 to play. If you want competition, your only option currently is to make a team and play other teams in privates. My team is usually on, so if you need someone to play against then just message me.
meh, that idea is good, but it takes too much effort. i guess thats the point of private games. you get sick of pubs and you put forth the effort to get a chosen team battle. no matter how hard i try, clans keep pulling me back in :| "wonder why the lone wolf don't run with a clan, only trust instincts and be one with the plan" ~Battlecry by Nujabes
That playlist would consist of you and maybe eighteen other kids playing each other all day every day. However .. DUN DUN DUNNN .. a create game button! Oh, the joy. You could search for exactly the type of game that you wanted, or make your own! But yeah, I like the 99 playlist idea. It won't be a temporary fix, new players will always be joining. I usually see nothing but new players on COD4, and that game is still like 40 dollahs .. Way more than MNC. Goooo potatoes.
