Suggestion: Remove Fall Damage taken as a result of using a jump pad. I'm 99% sure I have been killed after successfully juking an enemy and using a jump pad to return to my base from the middle of grenade III. It IS minimal, but seems silly to penalize player health for mechanical transportation via jump pads, ESPECIALLY when using the jump pads to reach HIGHER elevations than your starting point. Falling off of platforms or using skills like charge/smoke bomb (before the passive immunity to fall damage) for transportation purposes definitely should face the penalties of fall damage, but I can't say the same for jump pads, which are mandatory for some classes to navigate the maps. This may have never happened to you because the amount of health you have to have is near the absolute minimum in order to die from it. (Almost no red in your health bar) Discuss.
Does it actually give the player a kill or a assist? Cause ive died by it once I believe maybe twice & I was wondering. I never actually got someone in that situation before. I usually finish them off always. But yeah I think it is pretty dumb for jump pad damage.
I'm unsure. I think it lists the last person who damaged you + your name [icon] = your name. Has not happened often enough for me to make an observation on if it counts as a kill or assist. The death is the far more annoying part.
You're thinking of Billy Rueben. An easy mistake to make. Who doesn't love spending $50 on a jump pad that hurts you and stops you from regenerating health. I use the jump pads a lot to get away from gunfire. It is annoying to have my health stop regenerating after taking a jump pad and some durtarded level 5 assault shoots his rifle from across the map and kills me with one stray bullet. Why do I get punished for taking jump pads? WHY? Fall damage is bad enough, but losing health regen is even worse IMO.
I don't know how I neglected to consider the lack of health regen. That occurs FAR more often than death from these things. Good catch.
If you're good at running away the interruption of health regen is far more important than a few small hits. I've never died from a jump pad but I have noticed that after a jump my health takes forever to recover. I have however died many times because I get stuck in a bouncy jump loop on Steel Peel.
ive been killed several times like this before. i agree that it should be removed, but i also think falling damage overall should be revised. it isn't really dangerous, aside from stopping health regen.
