I like the new gamma, new commanders, balances ect...

But I can no longer "scale economy", and I have lost alpha and delta commanders...

    Will these return?

Alpha and delta commanders won't unless you paid for them.
    Scale economy will though.

Well, I thought scale econ had already returned, in the form of AI difficulties?

This is now the... sixth thread on the topic of economic slider in the past two days? and... thirteenth on commanders?

    Please do a search.

We now have sandbox/easy/normal/hard since most new/casual players didn't know what the Economy settings were.

It will be added back in down the line.

You only get the commanders that you backed for.

If you kicksterter backed $90 or more, you'll get the Delta. If you didn't kickstarter back, you need to pay $200 or more for the Delta. Can't remember what the Alpha backing requirements are for that.

UPDATE: I managed to get an alpha commander somehow (IDK, my first proper game with Gamma).

Another thing I miss, even though it has been gone a while, is the area command for energy, when it made a large group instead of a row; this allowed me to build lots of energy fast.

Circle area build for energy has been gone for a long time, and it's a good thing.

Spreading out your energy is key. When it's all blobbed up, particularly Advanced Energy, it's such easy pickings for raids and nukes.

I love it when my opponents would use the circle area build for energy because it meant all of my opponent's energy was in one neat easy to destroy group. Made for some easy wins.

Devs actually stated that they want us to choose between line and circle, not force us into one way.

And I will shout for joy when my opponents put all of their energy in a nice neat clump for me to destroy.

That is why anti nukes and defence turrets exist...
Really? I don't remember that... it should be an option in the game settings (between line and circle)

Still is a cinch to destroy. You must protect it against nukes, ground attacks, artillery, and air. You will have a hole in one of those defensive lines. And if by some miracle you have all of those extremely well covered, it means the rest of your base isn't well defended and/or you have no map control. Either way. Makes my job much easier.

I love it when my opponnets make it easy for me.

Is it just me or do you sound really pretentious?

Define pretentious: "attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed."

Not what I'm trying to come across at all.

It's a simple fact. Clumps of energy are easy to destroy. Talk to any of the top players and they will tell you to spread out your energy.

When energy was originally in the circle build option, ZaphodX built a mod specifically to switch it to line build mode.

    It's a common stance.

Yes, of course but you keep referring to yourself winning and the incompetency of others.

"I love it when my opponents would use the circle area build for energy because it meant all of my opponent's energy was in one neat easy to destroy group. Made for some easy wins."

"And I will shout for joy when my opponents put all of their energy in a nice neat clump for me to destroy."

I doubt you were doing it on purpose but to me you come off as fairly pompous.

Enough arguing on my thread. Now with the new units, balances, flaks and more, I find stuff generally easier to defend. Over the months I have bettered my strategy (that's part of the game anyway)

Not that you're wrong, but I did like to use the area build to throw my generators around my base in small groups. Still prefer it to line build.

Granted, I do play against AI most of the time.

Sorry to bump in, but I don't see what he's saying as pompous, it comes down to the context in what he said.
And it is true that making big "NUKE ME" signs in the middle of a base make it easier, for anyone really.

I don't know about you, but it's definitely enjoyable for me when an opponent makes it easier for me to win.
You know... when I actually do win.

I guessing you're calling him pompous/pretentious for seemingly saying that players who choose the circle build are inherently worse, but from what I understand he's just saying that players who choose the circular build are inherently hampered by their choice.

And, well, the line build just is the better option. There's no way to deny that circular builds are too fragile and difficult to protect compared to lines randomly strewn around your base.

    Thank you kind sir.
