so i had to use paypal because i don't have a credit card. I'd really like to know if this will count to the sum for unlocking stretch goals and how much was already donated via paypal. any info on that? greets!
Yes Paypay payments count towards stretch goals, we know how much much has been raised by Paypal but it's been said to be a small fraction of the KS total. Mike
Paypal is really only there for a small fraction of people and isn't going to be a huge issue. If it makes the different we'll use it to reach a stretch goal.
So, now that the project is funded on Kickstarter, isn't PayPal the best way to fund it? As far as I'm concerned all PayPal donations go directly to the developer, without Kickstarter or Amazon slicing any cuts from that money.
http://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/cre ... esKickChar It's about 8-10% of the whole ammount. Paypal also applies a processing fee but I don't think it's as high https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees
I wouldn't go as far as nothing They still provide the servers and handle all the processing if it's funded. Plus they kinda made a name for themselves and a lot of people know it. Plus, don't go and cancel your pledge out of the blue or it's not getting funded at all D: I'm not against such a fee really, but at the same time it does feel a bit large on the kind of scale PA, Double Fine's or Brian Fargo's projects are.
Kickstarter provides a valuable service beyond Paypal. What Kickstarter (and Amazon) take is far less than what other similar services would take.
