Hi all. I was just curious if there would be anyway to implement Microsoft Strategic Commander support in PA?

Its a brilliant addition to RTS games when it IS supported. it would be very cool if I could map the camera to the unit so it can do variable speed scrolling of the map, kind of like if it was mapped to a joystick. move the stick slightly and the maps scrolls slightly, move it a lot it scrolls fast etc.

I know most likely this would be ignored and this is just a pipe dream that won't come true but in the small, small hope that this "might" happen I had to post.

There's been talk about adding support for additional mouse buttons.

Currently it's not in there, but I'm pretty sure Uber has said they'll add options for additional mouse buttons and the like. We'll see how far it goes.

Things like that are kinda low priority compared to finishing game mechanics. :-/

Would be pretty cool to use a mouse like that though!

I suppose it's depends on how this device compatible with standard USB mouses. As Brian noticed PA will obviously get support of additional mouse buttons, but it's not likely that developers will implement anything non-standard or not supported by some lib like SDL.

Though I suppose those can be mapped as extra keyboard so might be it's possible to use it even now. o_O
