I'm thinking of a super weapon that could destroy or blacken stars as a way to cripple solar power production. Not really a game ending weapon, but wreaking your enemies economy is still a huge advantage.

I am interested to see if anyone else has ideas for super/doomsday weapons that fit the scale of this game.

I don't like the idea of star-meddling weapons much, but there could be a game mode where a star is pre-nova/pre-supernova (of either type), and a superweapon can be built to make it blow up.

I do like the idea in principle but think it might be out of the scope of the game...

Maybe once Galatic Wars has been confirmed.
I do like blacking out the star idea though.

Actually, the massive destruction fits the gameperfectly. but destroying a star (thus star system) without the actual galactic scale to have more stars will be a meaningless tiebreaker.
It'd be more fun to shove planets into the star though :D

The idea of pushing planets or moons into the star would be cool (but would take a lot of rockets). Also it should take a while to move and have a doomsday countdown till it gets pulled into the star and burns up. That way a quick commander could leave for another planet. Any orbiting object (moons and other satellites) would get pulled in too.

I don't know, but somehow most of the things which come to mind when thinking about a "Star killer" weapon appear a bit suicidal - for someone inhabiting that star system. ;)

Not really. There are no people left, just robot armies blowing the galaxy to bits.
