And by fun, I mean people like to hide on them outside the arena and get surprise kills on people. Snipers managing to shoot you from their own base into your base by simply standing on that tiny ledge behind their base. Gunners/Assaults shooting you from behind your base from that tiny edge left of your spawn. It's frustrating because they're both part of the arena and not at the same time. You're only going to know about them being there after being killed by them from there first since they hide. I love being Support on this map, but in doing so I am of course limited to my team's competence and our turrets. These unusual angles are virtually impossible to get an airstrike on, and turrets are unable to hit those positions even with a hack. Sure I can change to a class that's better suited for direct combat, but by the time I do so to deal with this, I have spent most of my cash on Support skills and have no cash to invest in another class. Naturally I don't know if these ledges are an intentional part of the map or not, but by judging the layout of the map and turret positions, they aren't.
As an assault that exploits these all the time, I've been hit by a rocket turret there, Not sure what upgrade level it was at, or if it was hacked or not, but it was the far rocket turret at their base, and it would start shooting me if I shot the money ball. Maybe it wouldn't notice me if I just shot pros, I don't know.
Here's a tip: A thin wall+your shotgun=deadly. Spunky is full of thin walls which is ideal for suprise shotgun attacks. If you come up on anybody who is hiding there and shotgun them, there is a high chance you will kill them, or at the very least seriously scare them away. I don't like using my airstrikes there, but I have in the past and gotten kills from it too.
Tip: don't Ever sit in your "base" in spunky. Treat your entire half of the map as your base and protect the front lines and bot spawns. Build your turrets in the front 2 turret nodes not the spawn turrets. Laugh as whatever class camps that side ledge can only destroy your back right and moneyball right turrets. If you ever are chilling in your base, your entire team should be with you because the enemy has pushed you back that far, and someone else should be able to kill the ledge camper withease. Tanks/gunners/assaults can get above that ledge with a jet pack and will absolutely destroy whoever is standing helplessly below them.
What about Snipers sitting on the ledge behind their base? They can fairly easily hit both frontline turrets and the bot spawn turret from there, not to mention them having a decent line of sight to the right half of the other team's side. Kind of hard to hold that area when you get headshot by them every time you try to hack a turret that covers the center by someone who's sniping from there.
Are you talking about a sniper sniping from that tiny ledge that offers zero strafing room whatsoever, making them a sitting duck for 4 of the six classes?
hacking the right turret is only effective against idiots. when i use the ledge as a gunner all i have to do if the right turret is hacked is. pop out mortar hide pop out mortar hide until the turret is dead. the rockets will hit the wall and not me. if you want to deal with people on these locations i suggest you follow im hudsons advice. also you can get on that ledge with any class if your a support and they keep coming back there then put a fire base on the ledge.
