Spunk arena tactics?

    Ok so I'm thinking as soon as I saw the small size of the new map that
    support will be amazing literally just stick to the corners w/ the shotty and
    I think the sniper will actually be ok think about it just keep that lilltle straight away clear and ur good! Oh and 1 last thing wat are those big sliver clynders by each base??

    H and I happened to look at the map again amd noticed the outer edges by the bases a assassin can run on the outside of those and smokebomb up at there moneyball techincally so can the assault

    I think its a bit early to be planning tactics for this map...

    But it looks like i'll have a lot of fun with the tank jet jump. :)

    Early?

    Today while sitting in Engineering I took the maps and drew them on my engineering pad. I drew out 3 pages of strategy for every class, including camping spots and where the most tactical Assassin advantage will be. I used my test results for turret ranges to figure out what should go where, and calculated how long it would take me to end a game.

    Engineering is a very, very, boring class.

    Looking at the map, there are already a few things I can see happening on day one:



    'X' denotes Sniper spots. Snipers who are content to just sit in the back and snipe will likely camp here as there appears to be a nice small window where they can snipe at the Annihilator as well as the opposite Sniper spot. You can also shoot at bots coming around the corner from the center, and you MAY be able to hit bots on the other end as they leave spawn (looks like a small window of opportunity, though). Expect inexperienced Snipers to call this spot "home' since they can't really camp in the base and snipe out into a sizable enough portion of the arena to make base camping worth it.

    Circles denote firebase locations.

    Number 1 is where Support campers/base defenders will place firebases to deny access through the center to bots and pros.

    Both Number 2 circles is where Support vanguard will place firebase to deny access to our end of the arena on top, with the right firebase being the Annihilator defense and the left firebase being the base defense.

    Number 3 is just a bad location where I expect to see lots of firebases from inexperienced players, since putting firebases behind corners is pro play, yo.

    The awesome arrow denotes a deathtrap. An Assault/Sniper and a Support with a firebase could set up a makeshift base in the tunnel a la LazeRazor's front right tunnel, trap both ends and launch assaults on enemy base turrets and the enemy base in general. I expect to see MANY Assassins killing and dying in these two tunnels during the push to clear it out.

    This is just the way I see it, though. Feel free to add stuff to the map if you see something cool!

    look at red circle 1 Mintycrys pointed this out and i agree that this can be easily controlled by supports or gunners.
    RED CIRCLE 2 this can be held my snipers and supports with cover to either snipe or heal there firebases
    RED CIRCLE 3 this is quite interesting i think! IF you guys are familar with how to get on top of steelpeel with Assassins and Assaults the same useage and be used her just smokebomb or put down a lvl 3 bomb and jump then denote and ur over the wall and at there spawn!

    pay attention to the moneyball route:I find it hard to believe that Uber would but this quite simple route here first of all notice that in some parts you can be easily shot at and shoot threw so you may be able to snipe here as well i also suggest Assassins use this route to be unseen.

    i see this being a good arena for tanks as line pushers.

    Right now i can see a lot of firebase/ice trap/flak/assassin/prod grenade abuse from that corner on ground level that overlooks the adjacent spawners
