When you pick up a speed token thingy whatsit, does it run out after a while? I know they stack till you get gold but I think that after a while of having it I slow back down.

:| Hope I'm not paranoid because I'm already a hypocrite and some other big word. I think politician.

I'm not sure on this because I've never tested it out, but I believe they do wear off over time. It always seems when I build mines up to gold after picking up 3 in less than a minute or so I'm back to regular speed.

I just tried out Sprintz Gold and when I picked up one in game I went a bit faster then slowed down. Maybe getting gold ingame means you have it longer?

According to Cheesecakecrush, who tested this,

-Each speed drop raises your endorsement level
-In addition to the endorsement, you also get a temporary speed boost that wears off shortly.

Gold Speed + Temporary speed boost = max movement speed for the class.

Sweet. I played some games of Support with it as Gold and didn't die when I stuck my L3 Strikes on the damn Bouncer.

Who ever sent out 3 of the Bouncers in Eka's game on LazeRaze, they died like slim bots.

They do indeed expire after a certain amount of time. I don't know how long they last, but I always notice it when they wear off. Then it's time to kill a few assassins to get them back. I don't know why, but they are most common enemy type to drop speed boosts when they die. Sometimes that's all they drop, 3 speed boosts.

I've always wondered if the speed endorsements of the pro you killed have any bearing on the speed endorsements they drop. I think it's possible they might. I'm pretty sure that the default assassin class has gold speed, which would explain why they would drop 3x speed so often.

Yeah, if you want to see for yourself, and have a second controller, just open a private match and log in a guest, have the guest use the assassin, run over and kill until you get a speed, then run along an upper level until the speed runs out. I don't know for certain, but I think the temp speed runs out after 30 seconds. It might not be that long, though.

30 seconds sounds about right. It wouldn't be anywhere over a minute.

That's an interesting theory. I'm willing to bet that you are correct sir.

Wow I never knew they stacked! And here I am thinkin I'm bein nice by only grabbing one at a time and letting my teammates grab one if they are near.... No more Mr. Nice Guy I guess

I've also often wondered if they were at all dependant on what endorsements the dropper has, well Speed at least.....

If you have Sprintz already (gold speed) all you get is the temp speed boost.

Let's say I were to run silver Speed on a gunner, If I pick up one speed powerup, does it bump it up to gold? Then the next pickup would be the temporary boost on top of the gold right?

Not quite. Picking up a speed powerup gives you the next level and a temporary speed boost.
So, if you have silver speed and you pick one up you'll bump up to gold and get the speed boost.
If you have bronze speed, you'll bump to silver and the speed boost, pick up another you'll get the boost and gold speed.

If you start with nothing, first gives you bronze speed and the boost, second gives you silver and boost, third gives you gold and boost.

After you have gold, everything is just the temporary speed boost.

Assaults also can drop three speed pickups upon death.

I'm pretty sure speed drops from pros/jackbot/bullseye are totally random, like juice boxes/money. I've seen tanks/gunners drop three speeds before.

When I tested it, even having gold speed seemed to not influence whether or not killing the pro dropped speed pickups (it took 6 minutes to get to silver endorsement level o_O)

So, what's the word on how they're dropped? Random, or does the endorsements on the pro killed have any bearing on it?
