It will not. Why bother with land armies when you can build a super star destroyer and just lay waste to an entire planet. Besides that, navigation is going to be a nightmare to code. So there are two possible options: A. Uber making a Space Warefare expansion later on. B. Someone will mod this in. (Veeery likely.)
No, that is not was was meant. The OP obviously can't mentally grasp the simple task of browsing the first two or three pages of posts to see that this same thing has been asked for or discussed at length already. It is apparent that the OP is also in no way capable of performing a very simple search either. THERE WILL BE NO SPACE SHIPS NOR SPACE COMBAT IN THE PLANETARY ANNIHILATION TARGETED FOR RELEASE IN DECEMBER OF 2013. SO STOP ASKING!
While the OP may be thinking the kinds of ships and whatnot that are well-known from the various sci-fi movies set in space, there could still be a use for stations and carriers of a sort.. For instance, a station of sorts could be used to store resources/land units/basic structures before going to another planet (A lower-tech and easier-to-intercept kind of Unit Cannon), and something that came to mind a little earlier was, say, being able to strap air units (Not transports, for a good reason) to rockets to deploy to other planets. Personally, I think it would look quite awesome to watch a few dozen aircraft streak in, looking like comets as they enter the other planet's atmosphere. Same kind of effect could be used for the 'station' idea mentioned above.
iirc - Conquerable space-stations are going to be in - they're just called moons Using them to launch an attack at another player gives you space combat.
