I've got quite an important suggestion... I just learnt that Sorian is programming the AI for the computer opponents. If he is in fact using neural networks- may I suggest that none of the finished AI's are allowed to go online? And if they do, always keep a big red "OFF" button in the loop for an actual human to press in case of self-awareness. Seriously. Mankind should know better by now.
Don't worry. How would the AI know how to find the information to hack stuff. It can only do what it is taught. So don't tell it how to use google. If it can't find information it can't use it. AIs don't instantly know how to hack things, only what they are programmed to do. So, it would try to do that.....
Sorian programmed it. The first milliseconds of self-awareness, it would eliminate the humans capable of pressing the button instantly, and would defend the button so that no human could access it in any way. And then Gordon Freeman will somehow fight his way to the button and press it... or Will Smith... Or something...
So, Planetary Annihilation is both a game and a self-fulfilling prophecy? "The age of humanity has long passed..." when PA begins but I hadn't expected the passing bit to start quite so soon.
On release date, it's gonna feel pretty f#cking real to you too. Anybody not wearing 2 million sunblock is gonna have a real bad day. Get it? Shameless quote. Could not resist. I could HEAR Sarah Connor say that after reading your post, chrishaldor
