    Hi all,

I am running ubuntu 13.10 with kde and 331 nvidia drivers with optirun.

I just bought the game and tried it : when I launch the game with my usual command line (vblank_mode=0 optirun -b primus %command%) on steam, the game launches fine, i get music, background and ui, just the mouse pointer is missing.

I have tried the different workarounds but none of them worked :
    - Disabling compositing changed nothing
    - Changing my command line, neither (with and without vblank)
    - adding --software ui just showed me the cursor, nothing else
    - going with the start js / php workaround showed me the cursor (with a blac rectangle around it), the ui but nothing in the back ground 'no stars, no planets in the system)

I add that i tried all the last 3 with and without compositing to be sure.

    Any idea ?

    Thanks

    Alex

ps attached the log of steam lauching the game

Optimus support is rather wonky. I sort of got it to work, but oftentimes it is missing some features, like the green dots for metal spots and such. See the optimus thread. sechastain reported success there using the packages nvidia-prime and nvidia-319. So, your milage may vary. It's not supported too well, I'm afraid.

can you try "-b auto" instead of "-b primus" and see if that works?

Changing primus to auto did not succed.
I am reluctant using the nvidia-primus, as it does not work on other games i play.

ok tried nvidia-prime : game launches // black screen except for the cursor which is visible (music plays)

with --software-ui : black screen / no cursor anymore

removed --software-ui and retried : all seems fine...
