So i re downloaded the game from the website, and that fixed my FPS problem, for a little bit.

I made a post about low fps with this game, and SSX told me to re download it through the website, and that worked. But as soon as I got a pretty large army, my FPS dropped pretty low. it especially dropped low when I tried launching a meteor into my enemies base, it lagged so bad I couldn't even see the impact, just the crater. I have a decent graphics card, AMD 6900, but only 8 gbs of ram. Would buying more ram, say getting around 20 more gbs help with FPS? What can I upgrade on my pc to be able to handle this beast of a game??

Remember - the game is still a BETA - spending the $$$ now, won't necessarily mean your going to see the performance boost you desire. Some of the beta releases have new bugs others do not experience. Hard to believe you get horrible fps : i am using 4GB of ram using a Radeon 5750HD on my system and manage to run the game very smoothly (as long as it wont pass the 2.7gb limit (via pae patch) for my 32bit windows.

1st things first. ensure your drivers are up-to-date - this is important
2nd change the graphic setting in the game, lowering it might help
3rd kill all background programs . nothing should be running

What HotRod11686 said. You don't want to upgrade hardware for Beta version of game. Currently mostly everyone have some FPS drops in late game even on very powerful hardware.

Also can you check in game this: toggle FPS stats using Ctrl+P and then when you see FPS drops try to toggle UI using Ctrl+U. Compare results with UI and without UI and post them here.
