Just a quick question to everyone, post what you think whether Snipers ruin the game in some aspects, such as the whole Defensive part of the game, with Snipers Defense can be destroyed easily, i.e turrets, etc. And pushing lanes without moving a foot.

I know 'some' people love the excuse.. use teamwork.. Thats besides the point, this thread isn't about "How can we stop Snipers from doing this?" its not. Its about how Snipers take out certain aspects of the game that make it less enjoyable to play, even if the Sniper is on YOUR team (so no.. i'm not ranting because you guys may think i lost to one)

Now i know some changes are coming up with turret placement in the DLC, but i can't help to think Snipers will still have the ability to take out certain aspects of the game, even with the changes.

I think sniper's map presence is a bit too strong at the moment, but the Ice Trap and juice gain nerf + the scrambler buff will address most of my issues with the class (especially after grapple was nerfed.)

It does kind of feel overpowered when a single player can destroy an entire incoming army of blackjacks in less then 5-10 seconds. Even if they bots are being healed /supported by a support. Especially when he can do it from the safety of his own base.

What specific "aspects?" I get the part about the extreme sight lines on Steel Peel and to a lesser extent Ammo Mule. The sight lines into an enemy base are going to be improved (less effect for the sniper) in the DLC. But yes snipers are always going to find a way to tear up your base from long range, unless you effectively harass them.

It does get frustrating because of how effective they can be at controlling a lane and part of the enemy's base without committing to hardly any risks. A good sniper is going to deny you to a certain area and lock you down on the offense, that is a given regardless of what game adjustments Uber adds to the mix.

I think Grenade 3 ruins the game personally. Ejectors Everywhere=Tough time for assassins. No Cover/Cover Too Short=Tough time for heavies. I think it's perfectly balanced on every other map. They have the least health of any class, and assaults, tanks, and gunners can compete at long range. Most people are going to say "Wtf, gunners and tanks compete at long range?". Rail gun kills in 3 shots if they have no armor, 5 if it's gold, mortar kills in 2 no matter what. Product grenade pesters the hell out of them. It takes them 5-6 shots to kill you, and if you just play smart they won't head shot you. Whether you hit them or not is your problem. Any other class shouldn't even worry about getting sniped. Sorry, but "g3t b3tter!!!".

We should give every class but Sniper and Assassin jetpacks. I think that could work.

I think a lot of people get hung up about a certain class being overpowered just because their particular play style leaves them vulnerable to that class.

they shouldnt be able to upgrade anything. there fine with the start up powers everything else makes them ridicules. this is coming from the perspective of someone who snipes.

The sniper has way too much cheese in his inventory. A lvl 2 ring-out grapple? I'd be opposed if the grapple wasn't so cool looking, but it really should be lvl 3. Explosive shots? Maybe on bots, sure, but on people it's real annoying. FREEZE TRAPS ON THE ONLY CLASS THAT REQUIRES PRECISE AIMING AND HAS A LONG RANGE INSTANT KILL? No. No, absolutely not. This is the only thing wrong with the class. Even if I could jump, at least I'd last longer.

That being said, the sniper is the best lane pusher at range. I don't think that should change.

I have no problem with the Level 2 Passive. It lets you get awesome multi kills. Coming from someone who doesn't snipe. :p I guess a level 2 sniper is fine by me but Level 3 is just

The only thing they should do is reduce juice gain and make the jump height the same as support's. The thin character model combined with a crazy jump is annoying. Kind of reminds me of Waluigi when you factor in the voice too.

Oh please, Waluigi's nose alone is the size of Sniper's head.

Sniper - Waluigi; tall and obnoxious
Support - Mario for obvious reasons
Tank - Bowser; he shoots fire and has a shell
Assault - Luigi? He does have some high jumps and is tall
Assassin - The ninja enemies in US version of Mario 2! annoying and easily killed, but can catch you off guard.
Gunner - :| only thing I can think of that's comparable that's not already taken would be the hammer bros
Pitgirl - Princess Toadstool (not peach, old school ftw! :p )

Well that was fun and I'm probably completely off, but oh well.

They shouldn't gain juice so god damn fast for killing bots from their base, some of their lines of sight need to be shortened (map balance) and people should be able to detonate their freeze traps just by shooting them (not just explosives).

their inventory does have a lot of cheese, his character style is a try hard that studies the game extensively, so he would have everything from parmigiana to sardo to paneer to peyniri to limburger to formaela to petroti to manchego to simple cheddar and swiss. he could be a chef... of killing and maiming and suffering and jypsing.

but as far as balance, they are vital to prevent a team from using nothing but gunners. gunners in return stop tanks, tanks stop assassins... and assassins stop snipers.

and yes, assassins and assaults do stop snipers. get angry at a sniper, switch classes to an assault or assassin. they WILL curse you out in the lobby when they go from 15/2 to 19/17. they might cry...

the only unbalance they had was that they can kill every single pro on the map, wait for them to respawn, and kill them again, and then destroy the moneyball... all in 1 juice trip. and they can get this juice about 16 times a game.
    fixed as of next update

traps will also be upset a bit (perhaps the assault bombs need to be destructable, and i play assault, i just feel its unfair that ice traps are getting so easy but assault bombs are only getting harder)

they do a job. they do it for a reason. they can be countered. thus, only a somewhat-balanced team can win. if a team that loses to another team of nothing but snipers/tanks/supports/gunners, they apparently didnt choose their rival, the assault/gunner/tank/sniper.

The rate at which they gain juice is being reduced in the upcoming free DLC.

Today I noticed that the Assaults bomb doesn't even set off the ice traps.

Let's take a look at just what can trip an ice trap without adversely effecting a player, shall we?

Assault: Bomb, Grenade Launcher, Charge through trap at edge of trap range
Assassin: Lunge through trap at edge of trap range
    Gunner: Mortar
    Support: Airstrike
Tank: Product Grenade (requires precision), Charge through trap at edge of trap range
    Sniper: Flak

Why do I mention the charge/lunge? Once you get a feel for the trigger range of ice traps, the Tank, Assault, and Assassin can all disarm an ice trap by going through it and getting past the ice trap's range with the charge/lunge. This will also likely put said class in a better range position against a Sniper and often leads to the Sniper fleeing or dying.

False. I put a Bomb right next to an Ice Trap and nothing happen. 'nade launcher I am not 100% positive about but I've never done it before.
