Snipers Scope.

    I love the game, In every way but.. If the game was to have some reconstruction done to it I would hope that it could be made so that I can control how far to zoom in on the sniper depending on say how long I hold LT for eg. Tap LT and it zooms in x2 Hold it for 3 seconds and it zooms in x10.
    Anyone else agree that it zooms in way to much?

    I think this would cause people some frustration, because they're trying to steady their scope, but they end up zooming in and messing up their shot. Perhaps click in the Right Stick and zoom in? :p

    No I mean like, the longer the Left Trigger is held in for, the further is zooms and then a quick tap to stop scoping. you can then use the Left Stick to aim your scope and the Right Trigger to shoot.

    This should cause no frustration as this method has been used on other games also.

    The Tactical control scheme will cause problems with this idea. I do agree that it would be nice to have alternate scope options for the Sniper but this may have to wait for future DLC. Perhaps they can offer a burst-fire Assault Rifle with a lower magnification scope as an alternate option. It would be fun to have alternate primary weapons for each class too!

    i'd like a slightly shorter range magnification for my scope, the pull the left trigger idea is bad imo, sometimes you have a perfect shot at long distance.. do i want to wait for that? no.
    sometimes my enemy is zig zagging around alot and i'm having trouble aiming, do i want to switch to a higher magnification if hes getting closer? no..

    a left or right stick click would be much more practical.

    We've had a lot of internal debate about how the scope should work. I'm not sure there is a "one true way" for every player.

    I was right about to post this lol the scope is so zoomed in its gay idk how people can stand it

    Of course my idea was just an idea. I acctually prefer what you said about holding LT to zoom and clicking the right stick for further magnification.

    It was mentioned in another thread but how about doing a pressure sensitive zoom based on the trigger where if the trigger is partially pulled it does a half zoom and when fully pulled (90+%) it does a full zoom? Of course this would make the Sniper deadly at all ranges so you would need to add something like a sway effect or scope bounce when taking damage to keep them balanced.
