Don't get me wrong, I love the Sniper and I think he is well balanced but the only thing I think is kind of unbalanced is that right off the bat the Sniper can upgrade his freeze traps and his grapple. The problem is that LVL 2 Grapple is capable of getting a ring out, and LVL 2 Freeze Traps completely freeze you in place. See the problem? This is only a minor issue at the start of the game. I'm not crying or saying he should neccassarily be nerfed but that combination is a little bit too lethal for a game that just started :p

That's either one really good sniper or some really stupid players to fall for that repeatedly. The only map I've been able to some-what abuse this on is LazoRazor because of it's maze like quality. The rest of the maps are open enough the sniper is pretty much screwed if you attack from mid range and keep moving.

If they can still snipe you like that, they're probably not going to be a frost trap/grapple crazy sniper... they're going to be sniping.

Frost traps are actually pretty easy to spot when you know what to look for too. Running behind bots or shooting grenades/mortars (assault/gunner) ahead of you can help trip them early too.

Or just jump/fly over the trap.

It's so cute when a sniper comes running at you for hugs!

Level two traps don't even drain skills, so anyone would be able to counter-grapple any sniper who actually thought it was a good idea. And with only two traps it's not always that easy to make your spread wide enough to prevent people from grappling you right as they freeze.
