Sniper no sniping! (Severe bug)

Just had a particularly frustrating bug on a laggy as hell EU (Listen?) server last night.

Problems with the server included plenty of lag (but running stat net showed only approx 100 ping), random warping and teleporting (but no packet loss) and death and grapples took a second longer to actually have any effect (the latter sometimes failing if the assassin didn't hug you the entire time) yet shooting was still fine.

We were playing on Steel Peel and I was running sniper, when all of a sudden on one respawn, the sniper was doing his SMG animation and taunts, but didn't have any weapons! I could still use skills but melee didn't work. Effectively killed the game for me.
