I recently came across a small issue when trying to hack an enemy turret as a support. I placed my firebase next to the turret, and began the hack. I finished the hack, only to realize, when the turret started shooting at me, that the hack had gone to my firebase instead. I'd like to request a small tweak: When near both a firebase and a turret, the hack should prioritize on the turret.
put the firebase a little further away from the turret that way you wont get any splash damage from the turret shooting your firebase while you are hacking
I think what Maniac is really requesting is that the object you are hacking should be somehow highlighted or made obvious, so you always know what you are hacking. L. Spiro
Support is my 3rd class so I dont know its ins and outs as well. Can you explain why? It should be a simple test to get the nearest turret within your field-of-vision. If the Firebase is behind you, for example, shouldnt you be hacking the enemy turret if that is what is on the center of your screen? If you are saying this will not happen, there is definitely a bug in this system. L. Spiro
Agreed your FB was too close to you. If you want to place it that close and hack the enemy turret you should make sure that your FB is out of your field of vision. Also, I've developed the habit of hacking so that when the animation starts and you turn in, your back is to the turret, that way sins can't back grapple you while you're busy. With that habit I have an easier time swinging focus onto the right turret. That said I agree that a highlight on the turret getting hacked would be nice. L.Spiro I think it picks the turret closest to your left hand if you are in the hack radius of more than one turret. I think the hackable radius on turrets is smaller than on the FB so if you're not close enough to hook onto the turret with your left hand the FB greater hackable range sucks up the hack. It helps to have a high radius like that so that you can deploy it and catch cover while you hack.
