Since when did you think that YouTube become terrible?

IMO, YouTube became gay when they removed the rating system in late 2009.
It became gayer recently. Slower than ever.

I don't see the problem? Maybe it's because I mainly just watch vid. of those who I am subbed. to as well as FREE MUSIC. Can't beat that imo.

Yes, but they also inspired a massive wave of Copyright blockings - try and find Immortal by Adema or Famous by Puddle of Mudd for two examples.

Also, being an official channel, their ad volume is incredible.

I'm in the same situation as Stretch. And if there's something I can't find on Youtube, such as one of the songs you mentioned PlumBum, there's always another site.

It's gained various pros and cons over the years. The ads aren't bad unless you're watching a bunch of less than 10 minute videos, because that's roughly the same amount of advertising you get on tv. If you choose to actually watch stuff on Youtube, like say, Durarara (great anime, btw), you get one ad at the beginning that lasts for ~20 seconds then you get to enjoy 30 minutes of uninterrupted video.

The copyright stuff does get annoying, but I'm sure not getting paid for people using your work is annoying, too.

Nothing wrong with YouTube from my perspective. If anything it has gotten better since Google took over.

And Plumbum, I've found both of these songs.

While that is a great site for "popular" music it's hard to find the underground stuff (newer stuff), which is what I listen to mostly.

Besides for stuff like that I prefer turntable.fm .

Like they had a choice. Even before they took over Youtube they were being accused left and right of assisting piracy.
After they took over Youtube it became worse because of the sheer volume of people uploading stuff they didn't have permission to share. Some companies wanted Google to hire enough people to police uploads 24/7. Such a staff would have to be insanely massive and costly

I swear the "Usain Bolt rapping in Tokyo" ad popped on my iPhone 25-30 times in an hour span.

At first when they took out ratings, that was pretty dumb. Then, like many others said, when Google came in charge and said LOL COPYRIGHTED. I'm pretty much sick of youtube after this next update they did.
