    when the mother* beat drops!

This song kinda got me clicking through all kinds of house/electro/etcetera. Therefor I think a topic dedicated to it would be appropriate so I (we) can discover new artists. So, share that beat!

Yeah similar threads but with a different theme seem to either get locked or merged into the "no theme" thread version.

Though I could chat about EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and all it's many flavors forever.

Welcome to EDM! The home of "4 on the floor." Though the tempo was not the same for the songs Lennard posted.

They surely sound the same. As for the genre, meh. I like IDM better.

First off Zoom, I'd believe that you didn't google that if you can name any non-mainstream IDM artists. Second IDM is a sub-genre within EDM and so the 4 on the Floor is still there.

Also Tempo is the speed of the track, counted with BPM (beats per minute).

Oh, forgive me, Stretch you almighty music god. If you would please have the patience, oh great benevolent one, please let me rewrite my previous statement.

I don't like this sub-genre of EDM, I do however like IDM. As for the songs, I can't help but feel they sound the fucking same.

This thread needs a real band, like Skrillex.

Dang. There is a joke there but since this is sort of an EDM thread it doesn't fit. "Skrillex" used to be the lead singer and sorta guitar player for the Screamo band From First to Last.

    So back on topic...

Lately I have been on a Minimal tech. binge and the DEEP MEDi label some great artists for that.

Minimal is all about that inner vibe so there is no upbeat, dancy type riffs. It's just thick sounds with very little in the composition. Many can say Minimal is lacking but if you listen to the droning sounds deeply you'll discover different nuances. The phase may shift, a resonating sound can create a new texture, an audio effect, such as delay, can bring a different "melody" to the front.
