Unreal tournament 3 also lacked it on first release, but they added it in a patch from demand, they did this by using right bottom corner panel to display either server details or player names when you pressed the tab above the panel. This is useful because the game is more fun when joining a server you know has good players on it.
[Server-Browser] Playerlist signed ! would be nice, precisely because it should be a standard feature in a MP game.
