    Here's my desktop:

    Phenom II 1090t @ 4 Ghz
    GTX 470 @ 740 core/shaders
    4 GB G.Skill DDR3 ram

    OCZ Fatat1ly 550w PSU

    Gigabyte ga-ma790fxt-ud5p motherboard

    Asus U3S6 USB3/SATA 6GB add-on card

2 HDDs : Western Digital 320GB for boot and Samsung 1TB for Steam, both are 7200 RPM

case: meh, it's a Centurion Cooler Master or something, nothing fancy.
DVD drive... everybody has one, meh.

    and my gaming laptop:
    Sager 8690/Clevo W860CU

    Core i7 740qm
    GTX 470m @ 630 on core/shader (535 stock)
    8 GB of ram
Blu-ray reader (this is the most underused thing ever, probably should replace it with another HDD, maybe a SSD if i can afford one, but there price per GB is too high)

This is my computer. Your cell phone is currently stronger than this. Your RFIDs are almost as strong as it.

    Core 2 Duo E6550
    8800GT
    500GB Western Digital HD
    6 gigs RAM

Not great, not terrible. I plan on upgrading around fall due to the immense amount of must play games coming out at that time.

Recently did an Overhaul on my system. Probably the last upgrade before I change out the Motherboard. Currently on it's third CPU from upgrades.

    AMD Phenom II X4 820 OC to 3.0 Ghz (Upgraded from X2 7850 @ 3.2 Ghz )
    ASUS M3n78 Pro Motherboard
    8GB DDR2 6400 RAM Corsair
    750 Watt Ultra PSU
    IDE DVD/RW
Radeon HD4850 - Little outdated, but still serves my needs.
Kingston 128GB SSD - OS & main programs (Upgraded from 500gb Seagate HD)
    Samsung 2TB 5400 RPM - Games & Storage
Seagate 500GB - Former OS drive, now used for FRAPS
Avermedia Internal HDMI Capture card (For Smedley's Video Medley)

This puppy handles pretty much anything I throw at it.

Can that mobo support the Phenom II x6s?

not really a flashed 6950 but a 6950 with a modified bios to unlock the shaders (more safe since the HD6970 uses different voltage on the DRAM then the HD6950, you could end up reducing the lifespawn directly flashing a HD6970 bios)

Officially, it cannot. There is no firmware officially released that supports X6.

Unofficially, the firmware has been released, but has been known to cause SERIOUS system problems.

If the firmware was available, I might have gone to X6, but with DDR2 RAM, I didn't feel it was worth it.

There was already a thread about this, but it didn't really take off. :(

My current machine is about three years old, but has a GPU that is going on five years old. I don't PC game much, so it's always been primarily for work and media storage. I'm looking to heavily upgrade or perhaps build a whole new rig fairly soon.

    Specs:
    NVidia 7800GT 512MB (lol)
    Core 2 Duo 6750 Overclocked to 3.0Ghz (Stock 2.66Ghz)
    4GB DDR2
    3x 750GB SATA HDD

The case is a UV reactive acrylic, and I added a couple of black light cathodes. The cathodes themselves emit very little visible light, however the acrylic reacts with the UV light making the case itself glow blue. In the light the case is perfectly clear with only a slight blue tint.

I think I'll be building a mid range Phenom II machine soon, and this one will get a GPU and mobo upgrade and then be setup up as a media center PC.
