Well I been playing a couple of games in the beta state of the game and was wondering.
Is ones resource pool supposed to be shared between planets or is this just the way beta works?

For example when hopping planets/moon, you don't have to set up any economy on the new place you already have all the resources at hand.

I just feel like there need to be a bigger process when starting at a new place, it should be like you arrive with one or more units on a empty planet and the start setting up a new economy on that place.
So that you now have 2 independent economics separate of each other.
You can still transport more unit the that new planet, like more engineers or more units for defence.
But the resources should stay on one planet, not to say that you could build some kind of buildings that would allow you to transport resources between the two buildings on two different planets, but for this to work you would need two of them at each planet linked together.

Or lets say that you attack another planet/moon owned by another player, in the current way it works you can sneak a single or couple engineers up there and then from those engineers build a massive army without having to set up a new economic, without building any metal extractors/power plants at that new place. The way I feel it should be like, is if you attack another players planet you need to do it with a big enough army which would enable you to set up a beach head for a larger operation, so that you can build those metal extractors/power plants at the new place to get the beach head up and running.

Or if you want to try launching a moon/asteroid. In the current way you could do it with a few engineers without having the economics at the new moon/asteroid.
Here I also feel like there needs to be a larger process involved, like getting those metal extractors/power plants built, so that you can get the juice to build those engines that will start to push the moon/asteroid into another planet.

So in short keep the resource pool separate from each planet.
Would also make for a more interesting game.

At least make it so that people can decide for them selves if they want it or not

It's been discussed. At length... for the record, I'm with you!

Multiple economies over several planets would be difficult to manage. It would also be nearly impossible to get economie up on a secondary hostile planet.

Maybe there will be a mod for it. This is your best chance. Transporting resources highly unlikely, the focus is all out war if you wanne do economie I recommend you get Anno 2070 or something like that.

I'm heavily in support of a single economy across all planets. It just makes intuitive sense and it's practical for setting up asteroid collisions. You would have to set up from scratch on each asteroid/moon, and there might not even be enough metal/room to build enough eco to build the necessary halleys.

In the current state of the game, pulling off a successful invasion on a locked-down planet is incredibly difficult, verging on impossible. Making it even harder with localised economy would not be helpful right now.

I also think it adds too much needless complexity. In RTS's with good game design, what you want is a game where it's challenging to get the winning advantage over your opponent, but once that winning advantage is achieved, you want the game to end as quickly as possible. No one likes a game where someone's obviously won, but after that point it takes them ages to actually finish the game off.

I don't see how adding localised econ can do anything but further stagger the game out beyond it's welcome.

If you jump to, and lock down a secondary planet after losing on the starting planet, we shouldn't be punishing the guy who now has to invade you. After all, he WON the war for the starting planet, he deserves the advantage of a massive economy, and, as stated above, invading a planet is already hard enough as it is.

    This!

Am I really to build a massive complex of power and mex to get my 3 halleys going? uhhh
