I've heard that there will be game modes introduced, so this may have been addressed before, but...
I was curious about maps that weren't randomly generated. I've watch tons of competitive games (kotp, uber hosted tournaments) and i've noticed that the spawns are sometimes unfair and skew the game in a random direction.
WHICH isn't ALL bad, but... would there be a game mode (which wouldn't seem to be hard to make since some of the maps generate nearly identical it seems after creating, would just need a set spawn) to have 8-10 SET pre-generated planets that we could play.

    Reasons:
    1. Equal metal spawns. Can't tell you how many times someones spawns with 20 metal within walking distance compared to 10 or so nearby with plenty a long hike away making the fabs easier to snipe.

    2. Nostalgia. I can still remember a map from Quake 1 i used to play 10 years ago because it was perfectly set up and balanced so EVERYONE would play it for clan matches/1v1 to master it. Also, several maps from TA strike a chord with me from back in the day, and people that were near impossible to beat on them.

    3. Strategy. I remember a few TA maps where you had to use Stumpys to navigate the terrain, and other odd units that were necessary, also they had a 4 player lava map that spawn everyone on the 4 corners fighting for high ground in the center. Instead of everything just being flat or full of trees, there would be certain choke points or aforementioned high-ground to fight over, key mex areas.

I realize that planets themselves add "high ground" and "mex fields" , but it seems fairly easy to do besides from the maps already created, having unique maps with terrain that is set and navigable by only certain units and have hidden tricks people can learn to play better on them.
I can see a "not so awesome player" finding an odd map and playing it a ton to get better at it, and actually doing well at it as their home turf.

If it's not to difficult to do, it'll keep people playing, and like those other games i mentioned create some great nostalgia and replay-ability for a long time to come.

    Just my 2 cents.
