Will we ever get games where we have multiple starting planets?

I think that it would be wonderful if we could get games where each army started out on a different planet. It would feel like a "War of the Worlds" (or Starship Troopers, Ender's Game...etc.)

Im sure it will be possible sooner or later...its a great strategic idea! So much is still in the air as far as orbital warfare...

Frankly that would be annoying right now. Once better options are put in for interplanetary movement and combat, the next step should be multi-planet starts.

This would probably be the default way the game starts sooner or later. After all 40v40 on a 20 planet map with all the players spawning on the smallest planet? Not likely.

I think they are waiting for orbital to be fleshed out.

If you zoom out to other planets you can see the start positions, you just can't select them

Yea, I'd like to see this happen, but definitely not a priority by comparison with some of the issues still being worked out in standard game play. I think once once warfare is more orbital, we'll see this get more evolved.

Yes it will happen. It's in the confirmed features list as well as asked frequently on the forums.

    Do a search before posting.

Sir, your flippant use of "Do a search before posting" is presumptuous, incorrect and generally unhelpful. I made multiple search attempts and the results returned were either unrelated [check the garbage returned from searching [set as starting planet], or completely nil ["set as starting planet" multiple]["set as starting planet"]. Might I suggest that if you genuinely want to help improve forum quality that in the future you please respond with the correct search criteria that will return the answer that the poster sought? That would be a helpful method of improving forum quality that all could appreciate.

I agree, Uber forum search is often less than helpful.

Google is your best friend mate :) It's asked about on the Steam forums also.

Ultimately who cares if a question is asked once or twice. It will just make the answer easier to find next time.

It matters because it is very common to see the exact same question two, three, and even four times on the front page. It dilutes discussion and clogs up the forums. Even so, with the way the Uber forums works, replying to an existing topic bumps old topics up in the search, which is better than creating a new forum thread, since the new thread will dilute discussion and contain incomplete answers.

Most of the time, most people don't even bother doing a search. Many times when I tell people to do a search, they say something along the lines of "oh, I'll do that next time."

I am well aware that the Uber search form isn't very good. Using Google is often times better, as was mentioned.

If you did a search, great. If not, you're like 9/10 people who post duplicate questions, which is why I tell people to do a search on such a regular basis.
