I've been hearing for quite a while that making the server multi-threaded will significantly increase simulation performance. With the somewhat boring and just plain not fun 40 player games when the lag hits, i really would just like two questions answered: 1) why has multithreading not been enabled? 2) what is the estimated impact on performance if it is "enabled"? logarithmic or linear? For me, playing on a single 1300 radius moon dips the sim speed down to 1.5FPS sometimes. Obviously i make loads of units, but i noticed deleting them does not have a large impact on sim speeds. PS. i'm going to sleep now so i wont be able to monitor this thread for 8 hours.
