Could we please get server mods for the Galactic War?

I really want to play with the Realm Balance Mod on the Galactic War. :-D

Currently independent systems, but most server mods should be trial to convert to client, although some gw cards may need adjustment.

You can make a realm balance card. The best way to do that is to get a coder who is willing to make a tool to convert the json realm mod into a card. The tool would work with any server mod that only altered unit jsons, so it could be a reasonably broad converter.

They said they would merge the systems or something like that, somehow, before. It was brought up having one work for the other, and they said they wanted to get GW out the door first but that server mods are intended to work gamewide

Isn't the AI a bit clueless when playing with balance changes ?

It's interesting. It hasn't got the hang of a lot of the broader changes, but it's tactical management of units is still very good. I'm currently running about 75/25 in my favour versus the AI in my own private tests.

However, the very nature of the mod is that it is meant to be as strategy neutral as possible. If this is the case, then the AI's "strategy" should still have some degree of validity to it. Hence why I still find it encouraging that it can beat me from time to time.

Well the only time the AI has beaten me was if I was playing too passively. If you use skitters to constantly raid the AI you can win, it just takes time (the AI doesn't just roll over and die any more). Also orbital radar is important. The AI loves to jump to orbital instantly but you can easily shut that down with umbrellas and an orbital launcher.

Might be worth talking to @Sorian about whether the AI has any internal preferences to tech "up", rather than realising that the tech is, in fact, largely sideways for many of the balance mods at the moment.

While rushing towards Orbital play is doable in RCBM, it usually comes only when the player has a cunning plan to escape and colonise another planetoid, or requires support for their ground force. Going "pure" orbital just isn't that viable to exclude all other options.

Indeed. The AI has never won a game against me when it rushed orbital, because I always dominated land. Speaking of which how are the anti-nuke fixes coming? Is it safe to use them yet or do they still fire at Satelites?

Still broken at the moment. Will work on it today and tomorrow probably.
