Well, that looks ok for the server. Although curiously, you seem to be lacking a sound card and your graphics driver are close to two years old. That shouldn't affect the server part although I am a bit surprised the client works ok for you. Does it work for you when you go to [SETTINGS] -> [SERVER] and set the local server to off? Galactic War will then use Uber's server instead of your computer. This means you will need a internet connection of course. This is just meant as a test since I assume you would prefer to use the local server rather then playing of the internet. P.S. for future reference, the "Upload a File" button works better for posting large text files.
Upload a file: noted. Yeah; my audio demands are low so I built a computer with pretty good sound on the motherboard. If I exceed my current capabilities, I'll add a card. Same basic approach went into updating drivers: if it works, don't upgrade. I have upgraded to new drivers to my chagrin before. I played a skirmish game against AI using the Uber server. A few moments of lag, but no serious problems until... For the first time, I used "Chronocam" to see what that does (is it a replay?). In-game, or in-cam, I should say, the UI didn't work. I quit the app and encountered a dialog that said "Coherent UI - A Modern User Interface Library for Games has stopped working. The Chronocam is actually a very nifty tool. It allows you to replay certain events, even while you are playing. So for example, if you are scouting and you get a message that your scout has been destroyed, you can rewind a bit to see what it saw before getting destroyed. And after you die or the game is over, you go into spectator mode and you can use the Chronocam to review the game and see how you lost (or won!) while having vision of everything. Anyway, I'm 90% sure that that particular crash was caused by your out-of-date drivers I'm afraid. They really are rather old and PA is quite sensitive to it. But to return to your local server crashing; do you use Steam or the UberLauncher to run the game? If you use Steam, could you give the UberLauncher a try? You can get it here. If you use the UberLauncher already, can you try running the PA.exe directly. I don't have Windows myself, but it should be located somewhere in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation". On a typical install %LOCALAPPDATA% will be "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local". Oh, and don't forget to turn the local server back on of course.
Alas, my drivers appear to be the most current that AMD provide for this video card. I use Steam. I'll try the Uber launcher.
Are you sure? According to your DxDiag.txt, you have a Radeon HD 6700. According to the AMD Omega release notes, the Radeon HD6000 series are still supported.
I think you replied to the wrong thread, so I am posting a reply here. Did you manage to get the latest drivers installed? That should help with the crashing. Your card should still be supported as far as I can tell.
