When ever I start up the game it takes about 30 sec to get to the start screen. Once there it will stop responding for about 20 sec then let me click the next option. Then it stops responding for 20 sec and so on. It happens after EVERY click or even if I dont do anything. Once I get to the Link ubernet with steam it lets me type my name and password in, but does not let me clock sign in and link. Not sure why it is so laggy and stops responding after every click. Also: I have done all the DX runtimes the forums have suggested and opened said ports.. So I have an: I7 920 (OC) (yes I know it is old) 680gtx (yes it has the latest drivers) 12gb ram and plenty of storage space. I have attached my DX diag for your pleasure.
DxDiag seems pretty normal. Did you have same problem on older version of Nvidia drivers too? Also do you have some special settings of Nvidia driver (e.g Vertical Sync off)?
No everything is normal. V sync is set to use 3d app settings. I have had these drivers before I installed PA. I would have to uninstall and reinstall just to test that.
My other guess is this: You have pretty rare audio card with extremely old driver. http://support.creative.com/Products/Pr ... 0ZS&page=0 There is a newer drivers, but they also from 2010, so I recommend try to test game without this card at all because it's can be reason of your problems. Also I recommend to update headset sound driver too: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/w ... t=&osid=14 You need 64-bit version. And I really don't see why are you using sound card from 2003 in current gen computer. PS: There also was issue related to sound driver (but for different device).
Installed the new drivers and no improvement. I have not tried running the game without the card though.
You need try that, just remove it from computer. As long as I know old Creative sound cards was completely broken in Windows 7, e.g they can't use any of their hardware features by default, so there just no reason to use them instead of Intel HD audio. :?
Ill try it. It has worked pretty well for me since xp. I used it in Vista as well with only minor problems. In vista I had to use compatibility mode to get it to work though. EAX and all that work pretty good in 7 at least for me. It is my oldest part in my computer lol.
I doubt that is true if you don't install some special software. Since Vista all interfaces related to sound output were replaced with completely new where it's mostly impossible to use DSP, so there can't be "real" EAX support in Windows 7 by default. Probably there is some way to bypass it's all, but I don' think you might get it on 2007 driver (which were released before Windows 7  ).
I had the software that came with it and games that had the support I could hear the difference when turning the option on and off. I figured out the problem. Nothing to do with the sound card. I have three monitors and when I have them set to surround mode it lags out. If i put it in single mode it works fine. Shame since my monitors are in vertical mode.
Yeah I know about that tool, but never think it's still working for newer games (and that anybody really use such old sound cards). Nice catch! Sad that DxDiag doesn't contain any information about multi monitor setups.
Create a bug report under http://pa.lennardf1989.com/Tracker/ please with as much information as possible. Such bugs and the knowledge of how they happen are the best bug reports I'd say.
