as you level them up. i know 1 has more range then 2, not sure if 3 has the same range as 2, less range, or more range.
Can you give an example of this that the rest of us can try to replicate? How exactly did you come to this conclusion?
On steel peel i had a rocket level 1 on the back right side of the base and a lazerblazer on the front of the right side. The rocket would shoot the bots before they got through the door way and before the lazer could shoot at them. After upgrading it did not shoot tell well after they were through and after the lazer could. The rockets didnt even try and target tell after.
Easy enough to test... host up a private match and plug a controller into slot 2. Have a player stand just outside the range of a level 1 RockIt turret and then upgrade to level 2. If the player needs to move farther forward than a step the range has decreased. Repeat for level 3. EDIT: Just tested it and the range of the RockIt turret increases with each level.
There is a known issue with turret reverting to a lower range after a hack runs out. It's on our list of fixes.
I just tested this as well, using a similar methodology. You are correct, Rockit turrets increase with range at each level. OP: Sounds like the original turret had been hacked by a Support to increase it's range, and the hack ran out when you upgraded the turret.
Oops, nevermind OP. Seems you were correct! Devs: Once again you've got stuff well in hand before it's even reported to the community. I am super excited for the first patch to come out!
