Robocraft - Good Game Maybe?

Seems like a good concept, build a mech/plane/tank and go shoot other things. The negative Steam reviews aren't very encouraging though, and one is quite lengthy and detailed. Anyone tried it?

Yeah, I play it pretty often. It was a lot more fun earlier in the alpha, but it's still interesting. Here's a hint: Use railguns. They be OP right now

Rail is always OP.

I dunno, the steam reviews look pretty good to me.

I've seen a few lets play videos. Looks pretty fun.

Even then, it's free to play. So why not give it a try? :-D

It's just horribly balanced right now. I love flying Plasma bombers, and I flew them before wings came out.

If you want to really enjoy it, you need to go in with an open mind, and fully prepared to exploit the things that are broken (railguns v flyers, infinite SMG range, etc)

Plasma bomb nukers, smg phalanxes. Use what works or die

Good game? Yes. I don't always play it because it can get stale with some of the unbalances, but they try their best to listen to community input, which is awesome.

You have the advantage of starting at the bottom, I'm 80% through the tiers, so I have to downgrade to get stuff unlocked :/

It's fun. It's quick-paced. Railguns are indeed OP and though the recent patch said they're nerfed, basically they're not.

They changed the tech tree so it's now more of a progression. however, they didn't rest the tech points so now, as a noob you can be fighting with pulse weapons against a team with planes and balloons (up to a certain point).

So yea balance is still a long road to walk, but it's something you can easily spin up for 10 minutes, have a game, have fun and then quit.

Exactly. The matches are so fast that you can take an easy 15 minutes and not feel pressured to keep playing

Well I've downloaded it. It's ok so far. But I'm really disappointed with how limited you are in the beginning. I think the game would be better off as a $10 title with easier/non-existent progression.

They are doing weird things to it. They also haven't a clue on how to listen to their community....lol
