Im sure this has been discussed to death for both platforms but im wondering if there has been any development with making sure the player who originally knocks out the enemy for a ringout gets the full payout and kill.
Let me get a straight. You are talking about Ring-outs that suppose to be kill for Guy [A] , but Guy hit with other weapon to Guy [A] target that is in mid-air will get Ring-out kill and cash, but guy [A] won't get assists. Well. I think Uber Needs to re-make this ring out thing because It's easy to Steal a kill.
Than you wont get credit for killing him if the knock-back wasnt a ring-out. My teammate knocks a guy back, not out of the ring. Before he lands again, I kill him out of the air. Teammate gets kill credit. No matter what solution is proposed, there is always a case that miscredits. Best to just leave it as it is. L. Spiro
And expire like the damage does now? If there is no knockback, the last one to do damage gets the ringout.
if there was no knockback, it should probably just count as a normal kill instead of a ringout. Or maybe an assist. Same thing as when a bot finishes someone off, whatever that is
It's impossible to feasibly fix this, because in some situations it's impossible to tell what actually caused a ringout. Did an assault let his FLY jets run out because he was trying to evade an assassin on land? Did a tank jump out of the arena on accident trying to get away from a firebase? The game can't distinguish these ring outs from knock-back applied ones. I suppose it could check to see if any force was applied by another player and make any ring outs for the next X seconds be attributed to that player, but there would still be some issues with them being credited incorrectly (such as if they were knocked onto land, and then one of the previous situations occurred but the person dealing knockback got credit anyway) even with this check in place and it's not really that much of a problem anyway. And more often than not, ring outs are credited incorrectly, anyway. You can get shot by someone, run around for a few moments, start to regen, get half done regenerating, jump off the arena, die, and still credit whoever shot you 12 seconds ago with a ring-out. The bigger problem is kills that aren't actually given to anyone at all. Players that kill other players but due to lag the server can't figure out who was actually supposed to be the killer, so it looks like the person that died charged or punched themselves to death. That really has no excuse for happening whatsoever.
