My idea is simple enough. What if Asteroids have rich metal, but finite amounts of it? here is an example with some bogus made up numbers trying to stay in the feel of typical TA/SC but with a slight spin on it. Planets: Metal nodes 3.0 per cycle, unlimited Moons: Metal nodes 3.0 per cycle, unlimited Asteroids: Metal nodes 5.0 per cycle, limited So with something like this. You have the classic metal/energy you're used to with TA/SC except for on asteroids which have a limited amount of metal in them before they are used up. This will create a bit of a resource race for the rich asteroids, and also encourage people to start chucking asteroids at each other when they get used up.
Why not, they need more resources anyway. Somebody else might've suggested mining asteroids too already I think.
Eeeeehhhhhh, if anything asteroids would have MORE resources then planets and possibly moons realistically, and the idea of any kind of limited resource on something you could potentially turn into a KEW I don't like, because it removes some of the risk/reward fro mteh decision of making that KEW, if you exhaust hte resources on teh Asteroid there isn't anything to lose from turning it into a KEW aside form the cost of the engines/defenses or whatever. Mike
Nah, No extra resources and not anything limited Just make asteroids like metal maps you can place extractors everywhere but you have to build them
