Units with a brake value of -1 will often move to point-blank range to attack other units. This mod changes all -1 brakes to values that equal the unit's acceleration value. This should prevent this behaviour from occurring.

The priority of the mod is set to 110 so that mods which make conflicting unit changes should override it.

    Version 1.0.2 - 2017/09/05
    • Added positive brake value to the Atlas
    Version 1.0.1 - 2017/07/10
    • Priority correctly set to avoid conflicting with other mods

That's the cause?! Thanks, putting the fix into all PO units that were formerly broken.

Certainly my testing seems to suggest so, and with this fix applied the AI doesn't run its bots into Infernos either.

Yep this is correct. Brake value is needed to determine distance from which the unit should slow down. My guess was that -1 means it never slows down when given an attack order.

would it not be ideal for the atlas to always charge in?

They've got a special attribute in their json that makes them do it anyway.

As Stuart said, I found there's a value assigned specifically to manage this and therefore decided to fix the brake issue to allow that setting to operate correctly.

The latest PTE includes a proper fix for this issue. I'll retire the mod once it hits stable.
