I hotkey the nuke and pop over on a regular basis to see if it's ready to go. Zaphod sets up his PIP to monitor its build. Once your nuke is built you want to launch it ASAP so you can get on with building the next one. Every second it sits in the silo is a second you're playing poorly. I'd like a mod which listed all my nuke launchers (in the order I built them) and the current build status of their missile, if possible the speed it's being built at, and also if possible the control group assigned to that building. I think it'd be a very useful addition.
I think the best way to do this would be to read create events for nukes. Do the missiles themselves get create alerts, or just the launchers? Not to hijack your thread, but you gave me an idea and I'm just writing it here so I don't forget. In TA, tracking a unit like a nuke launcher caused the camera to follow the missile until it hit the target. What if zaphod could just press t and have the pip watch the launcher, then follow the missile once it launches? This could be useful with the tracking pips mod I want to make, which will open a new pip and automatically track if you press ctrl+t.
