I just had a fun match of SupCom:FA together with a friend against a Swarm AI. My friend renamed (ctrl+n) a T3 bomber to "ERMAGERD" (insider) and then sometimes we checked back on what that special bomber is doing, how long it survives, how many kills it got etc etc... So I wonder if we might get the function to rename units and perhaps even get a little info-box somewhere when we select a unit to see their kill-count, name and hitpoints? I first thought it would just nice to have it for this "unit-stories"... but whilst writting this I figured that such a feature might actually be quite useful. You could give some tanks of an army the name.. lets say for example: "Battlegroup Orange" or such as to signal that this army is the army made to attack the Orange team or something, to make the organisation of your armies easier. Perhaps we could even make proper battlegroups, like in the SupCom2 strategical view? (Probably one of the only good things about SupCom2)
this was hillarious in FA, especially when fooling oponents into thinking they found your com, but it was only a support commander. I see no reason why not.
Other then humour there isn't much of a reason to bother. And humour isn't a good reason to include something.
I disagree entirely. Player-generated humor is the best kind there is. You've heard of Firefly snipes, right?
Hey, it does have a use. You can give your armies names then (if we will be able to make battlegroups on the map like you could in SupCom2) so they are easier to organize. Or you could name some fabbers in a teamgame, like, give them your name, to show your teammates that you are using those.
Yeah we thought that was supposed to be a joke too.... untill they told us they were dead serious about it. the two do not compare.
Well its not 1 time ,i see some one give a good sugestion ,and then some 1 kill that thought! (humour isn't much of a reason) you joking aren´t you?
