Is it possible developers could Remove fog when Killed in game so can see the game to the finish would all so be good to find bugs etc... Thank you.. Good work so far!.
Even though this would be nice, it might open up the possibilities of griefing the other players by telling on them and their strategies. Might be ok for the alpha where it is not about winning but might be problematic later on. Maybe make it an optional server setting?
Well simply do it like streams do it. Allow players to watch the game when they are dead with fog off, but you will be like 5 min behind real game time or something. I always enjoy being able to watch the game finish. I remember old games, before internet was widespread, you could watch AI battle it out even when you lost in some games. I hate just getting slapped a "GAME OVER" when there is still players left and do battle.
How would that work, you die it throws you back 5 mins in the past? I guess some people wouldn't mind watching themselves get killed again or they could just pan around and look somewhere else that happened five minutes before i suppose.
possible with chronocam. wonder if this would still be open for exploitation though? finding holes in defences and secret bases etc.
Perhaps it can be a player option in the game lobby. In the lobby each player can select whether they will allow dead players to see their moves. This way players who don't want people snooping can opt out and those that don't mind can opt in. You could have three options: No Dead Player Snooping Only Dead Ally Snooping All Dead Snooping With this teams can help only their players if wanted. What do you think? Rebuilt
I think a chrono cam view with no fog set 5 mins behind is a very good idea. 5 Mins is a very long time in game. Tbh I am looking forward to when they have a replay vault style thing implemented.
I've always like the idea of removing fog after you're dead to continue watching the game play out. I too enjoy watching AI crush each other after I've been killed off. However, I suppose like most things these days this can be exploited. I am liking suggestion implementing a delay of 5 min from real time as I do think this could help combat the exploitation issues. I also think it should be a player's choice (in the lobby when creating the game) to remove the fog upon death or not as some players might fear the exploitation is far too risky even with a 5 min real time delay and wish to disable the feature.
Well you could try various things. But i would suggest something like when you die, it go to the starting time of the game in the chrono cam. then you can watch the game up until 5min delay. I magine that it will be awesome to see what else has gone on in the game. Because you and your opponent might have been fighing , but there is probably more players in the game, so you can watch how they are fighing and such. Im sure you cant find other stuff to watch while you wait for the time line to go on. I personally just hate getting booted out of a game. Its the same problem in Starcraft 2. you play a huge 8 player free for all, then when you are killed, you just get DEFEATED. its like what the ??? i wanna see who wins. I believe this is 100% worth the effort. Because clearly the game lenght in PA are gonna be LONG depending on how many players you are in the game. so most certainly do i wanna know and see how the war plays out and who wins. Even just giving you the option to leave the game and join in later to watch if the game is still going on. again with 5min delay or 10min delay, its hard to say how much delay is needed, because i dont know the pacing of the game. But im sure Uber can find that out by testing and trying. afterall that is what beta is for
Being able to still talk to your team after death, even if you can only see what they see, would be nice. So in practice you could continue on seeing FOW with your allies or permanently switch to spectator mode a few minutes behind.
