This is the new thread for my rebuild of the old Commander Health Display mod. This is an update to the current version but I'm giving it a new thread so I can manage the update log and stuff. I also changed the name since it now includes things other than just a health bar. Updates: v1.0 to v2.7.4 - Old versions (read more) v3.0 - First release of Commander HUD. Includes a new UI, compatibility fixes, and minor improvements. v3.1 - Bug fix for Galactic War build and a placeholder commander icon system. See this post for details. v3.2 - Bug fix. v3.3 - Support for build 73737 and improved UI. v3.4 - Lock/unlock toggle so you can lock it in place to prevent accidental movement. Screenshot time! The version PRoeleert is crash free in the current build (thanks a ton!) so now I'm focusing on adding/improving some needed features and getting the icon to match your commander. Once all that's done I'll go ahead and release the update. While I'm at it I may rewrite some of the code because I'm not a fan of how this CSS works so we'll see how long it takes to get this release-worthy.

I'm glad I could get this updated! Lots of people (myself included) have enjoyed this mod and it will be nice to have it working again. Here's my list of things I'm planning to add: Flash box red on attack/low health instead of the warning text. Move the click to select com thing to a link instead of the whole box so it doesn't activate on drag. Fix commander icon so it matches the commander that you're using. Maybe something else really cool... Please tell me if you have any ideas or requests!
Quick question, how does this mod behave when there are several commanders on your team (share army) ? Could it be possible to have something similar to the list of the planet, and selecting a particular Comm would put it as the main one (in the collapsed view) ? Illustration : It's merely a suggestion. Maybe it's either impossible to have access to all the commanders data, or too difficult to implement.
TBH I'm more exited about this that the next patch. Although with this + auto factory + hotbuild +missile command + econ manager + tracking PIP + the fact that I have 1280x1024 monitor will make my screen a bit clattered. I've already changed my auto factory to always on and don't show UI.
I'm honestly not sure. I haven't looked into the best way to do the commander icon part but I'll keep that in mind when I do that step.
Last time I checked the UI was completely oblivious to how shared army games with multiple commanders work, so implementing that kind of separation would be impossible.
